Elder Derrick Conward
Elder Derrick Conward was born and raised in the suburbs of Montgomery County, Maryland. He is an alumnus of Morgan State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Elder Conward is the son of Bishop Robert S. Conward and the late Evangelist Beverly Conward. He comes from a rich legacy of faith and ministry and credits his father's mentorship, the unwavering love of his wife, LaToya, and the joy of raising their four children—Jacobi, Jailyn, Jaxson, and Jazmin—as instrumental in his growth as a man of God.
Elder Conward has served as the Worship & Arts Ministry Director for over 20 years, using his devotion to God and music to impact lives. In January 2008, he became a licensed minister of the gospel. Elder Conward is known for his ability to reach believers across generations with a message of faith and hope. His journey of faith was further strengthened in 2004 when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. By May 2005, he was miraculously declared cancer-free, an experience that deepened his reliance on God and solidified his testimony of healing and trust.
Passionate about worship and discipleship, Elder Conward remains committed to winning souls for Christ, serving as a mentor, advocating for prayer, and being steadfast friend. He believes that true service extends beyond the church walls, shining through acts of kindness, integrity, and faithfulness in everyday life.
Scripture
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 -
“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit of Power; that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
