OUR PASTOR

Bishop Robert S. Conward committed his life to Christ in 1973 at the Peoples Christian Church of Deliverance in Washington, D.C., under the leadership of his father, the late Bishop Arthur S. Conward. His early ministry began with teaching Sunday school to pre-teens, and in 1981, he was ordained as an Evangelist. This role allowed him to share the gospel across the Washington Metropolitan Area with passion and purpose.

In 1990, he co-founded Restoration & Praise Fellowship Church in Lanham, Maryland, and was later elected as its Spiritual Leader. In 1993, he was elevated to the office of Pastor. Five years later, the church merged with St. James in Washington, D.C., forming what is now known as St. James Restoration Apostle Church of Christ in God (ACCG). Bishop Conward continues to serve faithfully as Senior Pastor.

In 2010, he was consecrated to the Office of Bishop by ACCG Presiding Prelate, Dr. James C. Richardson Jr. His dedication and leadership led to his appointment as First Vice Bishop, a role he held from 2016 to 2025.

Bishop Conward is known for his love of teaching and his unique ability to break down the Word of God in a way that is both meaningful and memorable—often using relatable stories and humor to reach people of all ages and walks of life.

Bishop Conward was married to the late Evangelist Beverly Conward for 39 years. Together, they were blessed with two children—Elder Derrick (LaToya) and Crystal—and four cherished grandchildren: Jacobi, Jailyn, Jaxson, and Jazmin.
